Digital safety
The Dutch Safety Board increasingly uses digital tools in its investigations or develops its own digital tools to support investigations. The Dutch Safety Board can also investigate digital occurrences. A factor for the Dutch Safety Board in choosing to conduct an investigation is whether it can draw broad safety lessons.
Examples include investigations on
- the failure of digital systems due to a malfunction or an attack
- errors in digital systems due to a design flaw or because the technology is still being developed, or
- the use of digital systems. This includes human-machine interaction or interdependencies.
