The Dutch Safety Board starts an investigation into airproxes
- General
For years airproxes in general aviation have been the occurrence type most investigated by the Dutch Safety Board. This also applies to 2023. Therefore, the Dutch Safety Board has launched a thematic investigation into airproxes in general aviation. An airprox is a situation in which two aircraft have been at risk of colliding.
About the investigation
In the investigation the Dutch Safety Board focuses on finding common factors in the emergence of an airprox and the effectiveness of current measures to decrease the risk of airproxes. The Dutch Safety Board announces the investigation to airproxes in the quarterly aviation report Q4 2023 that is published today.
Chris van Dam, Chair: ‘Everyone can benefit from clear lessons for the future. And wouldn’t it be great if the number of airproxes in the next annual review of investigated occurrences in aviation is much lower!’
