The approach to airproxes

The Dutch Safety Board has started a thematic investigation into the approach to airproxes with the aim of contributing to solving current safety shortages.
An airprox is a situation in which, in the opinion of a pilot or air traffic services personnel, a risk of a mid-air collision between two aircraft existed.
The focus of the investigation is on general aviation flights, which mainly take place under visual flight rules (VFR) in the Netherlands. Commercial aircraft, fast-flying fighter jets and drones are outside the focus of this investigation.
