Emission 1.3-butadiene, Vopak, 1 February 2019

On 1 February 2019, a large amount of the highly flammable 1.3-butadiene gas was leaked at Vopak Terminal Vlissingen. Due to the extent of the emission, this incident falls within the scope of the Dutch Safety Board's mandatory investigation remit. The Dutch Safety Board will investigate the cause of the emission and seek lessons to be learned.
