Airprox, Alexander Schleicher Ka-7, D-2709and Schempp-Hirth Duo Discus T, PH-1529

Status : Closed

The weak thermals resulted in several gliders flying ‘quite close’ to each other. The Duo Discus was making clockwise circles and nearby gliders were turning counterclockwise circles. After completing a few clockwise circles, the Duo Discus turned counterclockwise  and came close to the Ka-7. The pilot of the Ka-7 started a shallow dive to increase the vertical separation. The pilots continued to fly in the same area for several more minutes after which they continued their flight without any further particularities reported.
