This interim statement provides a process update on the investigation by the Dutch Safety Board into the accident of a Blackshape BS 115 in which the instructor and the student pilot were fatally injured. The accident occurred at the lake Zwarte Meer on the 28th of June 2022. The process update is given because the investigation takes more than a year.

The aeroplane was performing a training flight at an altitude of about 5,000 feet, when it suddenly lost altitude and crashed in the Zwarte Meer. The investigation covers operational as well as technical aspects, including burn marks which are visible on the aeroplane.

Currently, the investigation is in the analysis phase. The final report of the investigation will be published in due course.
