This interim statement provides an update on the investigation by the Dutch Safety Board into an accident involving two aircraft during pushback at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on the 13th of February 2019.

During pushback of a Boeing 747 from a gate a collision occurred with a Boeing 787. The Boeing 787 had previously received a pushback from another gate and was still standing on a taxiway. The Boeing 747 suffered damage to a winglet and the Boeing 787 to the stabiliser. No one was injured.

The investigation explored, amongst others, the following aspects: pushback procedures, air traffic control procedures and communication aspects.

The investigation has been completed and the final report of this investigation is expected to be published in the spring of 2022.
