On 3 March 2020 a fatal accident occurred on board a Dutch ship in the United Arab Emirates. Immediately following the incident, the Abu Dhabi Port Authorities, the client and the Abu Dhabi Maritime Investigation Board aunched an investigation. The main focus of this investigation was to examine the local organization and supervision at the work location. Acta Marine carried out its own investigation, focused on lessons for the operator. The Dutch Safety Board was unable to travel to Abu Dhabi in March 2020, in connection with the restrictions due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic.
