Explosion in tank on board chemical tanker

An explosion occurred on an Italian chemical tanker on 15 December 2021 at around 07:45 hours local time in cargo tank 5 starboard, causing the tank to rupture open. At the time of the incident, the ship was docked in Rotterdam's Donauhaven to unload a cargo of Heptene. The explosion in cargo tank 5 starboard could occur because an explosive mixture ignited in the tank due to static electricity.
