Progress report airplane crash Libya, May 27 2010

The initial factual investigation into the airplane crash is finished. The coorperation with the Libyan authorites, the Dutch Embassy in Tripoli as well as within the investigative team have progressed smoothly. The data recorders have been transferred to France for analysis, both recorders are in good condition. A investigator of the Dutch Safety Board has been present during the monitoring of the cockpit voice recorder. Further analysis of the recorders will take more time because there is a large quantity of available data. At tis time deliberation are conducted with the Libyan authorities about the role of the Dutch Safety Board during the rest of the investigation.
