This Interim Report gives an update on the status of the ongoing investigation started by the Dutch Safety Board on the following Serious Marine Casualty:
During the night of 9 September 2022 a Dutch general cargo ship was hit from behind by a reefer ship sailing under the flag of the Bahama’s. The collision took place on the North Sea in international waters near Denmark.
The Dutch Safety Board started an investigation in this Serious Mariane Casualty als Lead Investigation State, with BMA (Bahama’s) acting as Substantially Interested State in accordance with IMO Res. MSC.255(84).
The investigation is in the final phase. All information has been received and analysed. The start of the 30 day review period is expected in Q3 2023. Publication of the report is planned for Q1 2024.
