Interim statement ‘Airprox Cessna 172S and Cessna 172P, Rotterdam The Hague Airport’

This interim statement provides a process update on the on-going investigation by the Dutch Safety Board (DSB) into a serious incident involving a Cessna 172S and a Cessna 172P. The event occurred in the Rotterdam CTR (EHRD) on June 15th 2022. The process update is given because the investigation will last longer than a year.
The Cessna 172S followed the published Romeo arrival route at 1.500 feet and the Cessna 172P followed the published Romeo departure route at 1.500 feet. Mutual separation was lost at the position where both routes cross each other. The pilot of the Cessna 172S made an evasive action to avoid a collision.
The investigation is in the analysis phase. The final report of the investigation will be published in due course.
