Quarterly Aviation Report Q4 2024
In its quarterly report for the fourth quarter of 2024, the Dutch Safety Board publishes a total overview of the work of the Aviation sector in 2024. The Aviation sector received a total of 218 reports in 2024. This led to 37 investigations: 19 accident investigations, 17 serious accident investigations and 1 incident investigation.
The Safety Board investigated in 2024 serious incidents in commercial flights to identify causes, risks and safety lessons. It remains important to investigate incidents, even if passengers sometimes experience little from technical defects or operational disruptions. The causes and safety lessons will help airlines take appropriate measures where necessary to prevent major incidents in the future. Chris van Dam, chairman: ‘Passengers should continue to board the aircraft without concern and be able to rely on a high level of safety.’
