The Gyrocopter departed Lelystad Airport for a local flight inbound a field in the vicinity of Elspeet. During a local flight, the Gyrocopter’s climb performances degraded. The pilot initiated a left-hand turn in order to return to the departure airfield. During the turn, the Gyrocopter lost height and airspeed and crash-landed in a adjacent cornfield.
