On 5 May 2024 early evening a cargo ship (Cyprus-flag) arrived at its berthing location in the Port of Rotterdam (NL). During the berthing operations the mooring line ended up in the propeller. As a result, the stern line came under tension and broke. Part of the line snapped back and hit one of the crewmembers aboard the ship. The crewmember was seriously injured and later died as a result of the injuries.
