Despite good weather conditions and visibility two aircraft came close to each other near Wieringerwerf. Both pilots had planned their route via the corridor between Den Oever and Texel. Despite good conditions they only had each other in sight at the last moment.
The Dutch Safety Board noted in a previous investigation into an airprox north of Medemblik that the design of the airspace led to a densification of the VFR traffic along the dike of the IJsselmeer. The chance of an airprox is therefore greater in this area. More information can be found on this investigation page.
