
Investigation into a engine failure of a Boeing 777

The Dutch Safety Board starts an investigation into a failure of the left engine of a Boeing 777 accompanied by flashes shortly after lift off. On May 17th the Boeing took off from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The pilots shut down the left hand engine and jettisoned fuel above the North Sea. The aircraft returned to Schiphol and landed uneventfully.
