International collaboration on accident investigations
- Quarterly Aviation Report
The Dutch Safety Board has published the Quarterly Aviation Report Q1 2024. In this edition, Chris van Dam, chairman, discusses international collaboration in accident investigations in the aviation sector in his foreword.
The world as a working area
International agreements require that a country where an aviation accident has occurred, conducts an accident investigation. If an accident occurs abroad with Dutch involvement, the Dutch Safety Board will also be involved. Thanks to good global cooperation, the aviation sector can jointly conduct an effective and thorough investigation and learn as many lessons as possible.
The Quarterly Aviation Report Q1 2024 describes:
- 4 occurrences into which an investigation has been started in the Netherlands
- 6 occurrences into which an investigation has been started abroad
- 16 completed investigations
- 1 completed investigation abroad
