Update on investigation into fire assistance on cargo ship

This interim statement provides an update on the investigation by the Dutch Safety Board into the emergency assistance during the fire on the Fremantle Highway and the ongoing international investigation led by Panama into the fire and the resulting injuries.

Emergency response to incidents at sea is vulnerable

The system for responding to incidents in the North Sea needs to be put in order as soon as possible. That will require improved communication and information sharing between the Coastguard Centre and its cooperating organisations on shore.
